The city of Banyoles and the region of the Pla de l’Estany has more than 80 sports facilities, and was the top sports tourism destination in 2003. Its facilities and infrastructures have great renown. It has a large number of sports facilities which have progressively adapted to the growing demand for practising sport throughout the year.

It features 17 multisport courts, 12 tennis courts and 13 football fields, but especially the 10 mountainbiking trails, 5 signposted hiking routes and one of the best regatta courses in Europe for rowing and canoeing.
